Ohayo!
How's things?
Been a bit of a busy week around here. Had a discussion about class with Caroline, Andy, Sakura and Chie on Monday, over pumpkin soup and a few beers. T'was pretty good. On Tuesday, we had the English class. Wednesday I had a Japanese lesson with Judy, which was really good. It helped to cement a few things, but there's so much to learn. It's literally all stuff that you don't hear in daily conversation, so it's pretty much all new to me. A lot of it isn't even used in the newspapers, it's specialist words to do with law or politics or what have you. I need to have about 2300 Chinese characters down, too. Including most of the various ways of reading each of those characters and their various meanings. I'm hoping that if I go hard, I might be able to do the test in July, but even then, it could be rough.

Yesterday, I missed my first year classes at Taikyu again because of a timetable glitch. They had me double booked, which only ever seems to happen with my first years... I don't think I have any classes today, so how's that for balance...

Still, I've got various things to get on with. I got an email from the soy sauce boss guy. He said they would print my translation next year, once they sell the bottles with the old translation on them. I also got a few more grades back from uni. Mostly small things worth 5-10% each, but I got between 70 and 80% on them, so that's a relief. Yet to get the project back though.

I think I'll mostly be making worksheets for class today. I busted out a fill-in-the-blanks sheet for 'Have You Ever Seen the Rain' yesterday, which went well. Thought I might make a primary school version. I've also had a request to do something with the Lady Gaga song, Born This Way.

Tonight we've got band practice at Ippuku, with Mandolin. Hopefully we'll be able to finish off the two songs we've been recording. If we do, I'll post 'em up.

Hope all is well
Cheers
Jim
