Hey y'all!
How's it going?
I'm not yet sure about grades and passing and all that, but I've now finished my uni course. Pretty sweet to not have to worry about that anymore. Tomorrow, we've got the English play for junior high schools, so that'll mean that today will be the last of my after school practices.

Other than that, on Tuesday we had English conversation night class. It went pretty well and then we had a little drinky after. I talked briefly to a guy who's job as of late has been bodyguard to the Dalai Lama on his trip to Japan. He was up in Koyasan.

On Thursday, we had a public holiday. Chie and I went out for a drive to a mountain town called Ryujin and visited an onsen. It was choice. There was a lot of typhoon damage around the area, but the onsen was real nice, as was the drive. We were driving through an area called Kumano, which has lust forests and river.

Friday, we had Friendship Day at Tsugi junior high. It's an annual thing where a few Indonesian workers and a few exchange students from Wakayama university come along, talk about their countries, talk to the kids and cook with them. It was pretty interesting.

In the evening, I put together a pile of pizzas and we had a little get together at our place. Andy and Caroline came and we hung out before heading off to karaoke. We met Sakura on the way, as she had been running predictably late. We got out to karaoke and a few other people joined us, making a team of 10. Had a good go at it and then went out for late night junk food.

On Saturday, Sakura, Chie and I went out to a cafe in Wakayama city, to eat all-you-can-eat waffles and drink reasonably decent coffee. We hung out there for a while and then went on to see a movie. Sakura had free tickets but there's nothing on at the moment. We ended up seeing the Three Musketeers. I guess it is what it is, but what is was was not so good. Nice to go to the movies though.

Sunday, I wrote 2000 words about Yoshi. I haven't written much about him as of late, but there's a lot that I never got round to blogging about. I think he'd be a really interesting character in a story, so I want to practice writing about him and also get everything down. I'll chuck it up on the blog when I've got a bit more done.

Other than that, I mucked around the house, went to Taka's cafe and mucked around there, came home, made dinner and then we had band practice. Band practice was real productive. We recorded demos of our songs to get a feel of the new songs and how long the set is. We getting to the stage where it's actually a little hard figuring out which songs to cut, as we've cut out most of the weakest links. The new set list has a real good flow to it and I think we've settled on a band sound, finally.

Talked to my ma on Sunday, too. It was choice!

Hope all is well
Cheers
J
